Green is everywhere, we want to be at the forefront.
Eco and Sustainability are very much words of the moment, we hear then on a daily basis. We think these words are in danger of losing there meaning by being overused.
At Own Cocoon we believe in being enviromentaly responsible where ever we can -we want to do our bit.
In our “Eco Homes” all the power needed will be produced on site by wind turbines, and in a economic climate of ever increasing energy costs we feel that free home grown electricity is a huge benefit to the owners of our homes.
All our heating requirements will be provided by “A Biomass Wood Pellet Boiler”, burning waste wood pellets produced locally.
Our houses are to be insulated to an exceptionally high standard, so in any case they will not need much additional heat.
Rainwater Harvesting to provide water for toilets, washing etc, again cutting water bills.
All our sewage waste will go in to a reed bed
In summary, our homes will have a positive impact on the enviroment and on your pocket!!
Being environmentally responsible means using old buildings instead of building new where ever possible, reusing old materials where we can.
We have a reputation for developing difficult buildings but we don’t see them as difficult we see them as amazing.
When we build from new it has to inspire us by being the very best we can acheive.
Where possible we use local suppliers and the best craftsmen available.
Quality and being different is important to us. Being at the forefront of design means that we stand out from the crowd.
We want our buildings to last long after we sell them to you.
We want what we build to strongly reflect our ethos.
We want you to be able to tell what buildings we have developed.
It takes more imagination to include all these elements in our projects but thats what makes us different.
